About Us
Gary Hillerson is an
experienced psychologist and technical writer who has helped to edit and format
dissertations and theses for many students.
Gary earned a Bachelor's
Degree, with Highest Honors, in Information Sciences from the University
of California in 1979, and received a Master's Degree, with Honors, in
Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 1991.
Starting in 1979, he worked
as the primary software engineer for several Silicon Valley startups, and in 1983, he was one
of three founders of Team Engineering, Inc., which design and
implemented a user interface management system used by most of the large
research labs in the world.
In 1989, Gary left Team
Engineering to pursue a career in technical writing. From then until
mid-2003, he wrote a large number of technical books for clients
including Apple Computer, Motorola, Sun Microsystems, Palm Computing,
Microsoft, and TiVo.
From 1991 until 1996, Gary
worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist intern in California,
specializing in men's issues. Since 1997, he has coached clients through
life transitions and relationship issues.
Gary began helping friends
and colleagues with editing documents in APA, Chicago, and MLA formats
in 1991. Gary is an expert in the formatting of papers and reference
entries in these styles. He has superlative writing and organizational
skills, is a renowned Microsoft Word expert, and maintains a broad
understanding of spiritual and psychological material.
